GRADUATION. IT’S A WORD FULL OF PROMISE.
It represents accomplishment, potential, your future in front of you. It evokes pride, joy and excitement.

On the flip side, the word Graduation can also strike fear in the heart of new grads and seniors. It can create anxiety, worry and self doubt.
Rest assured, everyone who has ever graduated has felt that. It’s often an even more intimidating time then leaving home to go to college.
That’s where we come in.
At New Grad New Job our mission is to teach new graduates how to find their first job and launch their career.
WHY NEW GRAD NEW JOB AND WHY NOW?
Finding a job is a learned skill. It’s not something people automatically know how to do, especially young adults who may have little to no experience in a professional setting or outside of typical teenage hourly jobs.
If you add in other very common issues new grads face: anxiety, lack of confidence, peer pressure, parental expectations (real or imagined), shyness, or unclear career direction; it can easily lead to confusion and paralysis in the job search.
YOU'RE NOT ALONE
DID YOU KNOW?

-
Nearly â…” of graduating college seniors do not have a job upon graduation.

-
It takes the average college graduate 3-6 months to find a job.

-
40% of graduates have not visited their school’s career center before graduation.

-
43% of new graduates are underemployed six months after graduation. This means they've taken a job that doesn't require a degree. Everyone does what they need to do to get by, but don't get stuck.

-
Of the 43% who take jobs not requiring a degree, 2/3 are still in a similar job after 5 years. Be aware!

-
Make your degree (and the tuition you paid and likely have to repay!) work for you. Put yourself on the right track from your first job.
